XBox Arcade Stick - Finishing Up
D-Pad Troubles
With all connections working on the PCB, all that remains is the tedious process of connecting the arcade controls to the barrier strips.
I started by crimping and soldering quick connects to one end of the wires.
The pushbuttons for the joystick and the buttons all connect with these.
One thing to note: the pushbuttons have a connections marked comm, NO and NC.
Comm is common, NO is 'Normally Open' and NC is 'Normally Closed'.
We want to connect Comm and NO so it acts like a normal switch: not connected until we push the button.
Once all the connections are made, it's time to test.
I again used the windows machine to verify everything looked good.
Next; Pac CE.
Plugging it in, it came up as controller one.
Everything seemed to work and it was time to go to work.
